Established in 2015, Etho is a graphic design studio located in Vancouver, Canada. Partners Anna Bohn and Robin Oshiro first met in 2008 as students at Emily Carr University. Their paths crossed again at a local design studio, where they had the opportunity to be involved in several notable real estate projects such as Bjarke Ingels’ Vancouver House and Kengo Kuma’s Alberni, before leaving to begin their own practice.
We at Etho Studio marry style with strategy and clarity of communication. Minimalists at our core, we shed artifice in favour of simple, clear creative that makes a bold statement.
Our approach is inquisitive, intuitive, and intellectual. We seek to capture the fundamental spirit of a company culture and why a brand exists. Each project is holistically conceptualized to build a narrative that speaks to the core of a cause or business while resonating with its audience. The result is impactful, finely-crafted, and unique communication and design.
In addition, we collaborate with exceptional photographers, animators, illustrators and writers who complement our work. Each are artists in their field and match our exacting approach to design, and our belief that beauty can be a powerful conduit to meaning.
As a studio, we have a passion for sustainability and wellness. Our personal projects include an app that helps people form better habits—for themselves and the planet—in partnership with BCIT Director of Institute Sustainability, Dr. Jennie Moore.
